Hypocrite

If it's the thought that counts, I've seriously contemplated writing a new post in the past....month. And I am aware that for someone that so openly complains about the lack of new posts, this is quite humiliating. But in my defense, I have had a lot going on. I am actually composing this entry while sitting in class, instead of watching a thrilling two hour movie on motivational enhancement therapy (so if you ever need to come to me for just that, be aware that I probably have no idea what I'm talking about). However, I have to find someway to survive my three week summer session of classes for seven hours a day! Yes, that is like a full time job but no one is paying me!

As for the last month, we will start with the wonderful, and horrible at the same time, addition of a black lab named Bear to our family. I was a little apprehensive about this change in the beginning but decided my son, Gus, would be much happier with a playmate. After three weeks of deciding to keep the annoying, hyperactive little sh*t, we took him to get neutered. That was when the trouble started... Gus decided he did not like the new and improved Bear and attacked him. Being home alone, and the strong person I am, I took it upon myself to separate the two. After several puncture wounds in my arm, a traumatized gardener, and a trip to the emergency room, we were all alive, and as well as can be expected. I wish I could say this was the end, but the two nemesis enemies met again the next evening. This time we were smart enough not to put our hands in their way. However, I can say that I am officially emotionally traumatized after watching the dogs trying to kill each other. Ironic enough, Bear survived without a scratch while my poor son ended up in the emergency room with a shaved head, stitches, a cone around his head, and on house arrest (according to animal control). So it is now evident where my lack of time for blogging has come from.

On a lighter note, my mom and sisters came to visit last weekend and grass was put in our backyard! I have also come to the conclusion that the hardships I have dealt with in the past month deserve some new outfits and swimsuits. Yes, I went shopping! And not just any shopping (because the idea of walking into a mall makes me want to vomit), but online shopping. This is when I buy EVERYTHING I can find, try them on when they arrive, and return 85% of the purchases when I realize they don't fit me or they make my love handles too evident. Of these numerous purchases were three one piece swimsuits! I can only imagine how proud each latter-day individual must be, but before you get too excited, I am not turning over a new leaf, I just really enjoyed the look of these new items.

Patience is a Virtue

In the school of Social Work, we are continuously taught about diversity and how every person is different. Therefore it is a wonder to me, that I am so intolerable of other people's differences. I find myself constantly wondering why everyone else does not think and act like...me! My process of thinking makes a lot of sense and it would seem that others would come to conclusions in the same way. Along with this intolerance comes an extreme amount of irritation. I have really been thinking about taking some anger management class lately, except maybe irritation management. Or maybe I just need a vacation (a real one, where I sit on the beach sipping pina coladas and doing nothing).

I tried really hard to add some pictures, but it is taking way too long, and I obviously do not have the patience.

Another Post!!

As I have stated before, there is nothing more annoying, and detestfully irritating than when people refrain from updating their blogs on a current basis. Which is why I have no excuse for my lack of participation within the blogging community. And no, my life is not so boring that I find myself at a loss of interesting information to share with fellow bloggers. On the contrary, I have avoided the mack attack website for fear that I would get sucked in and spend countless wasteful hours informing everyone of each unnecessary detail of my life. But in case you are somewhat interested, here are a few pictures (since that's the best part of blogs anyways).

Ben and I at Alison's wedding (don't worry, I have officially decided to get rid of the bangs)

A happy Easter!

A trip to the wax museum

Also, I will be changing our blog to private in the next few weeks, so if you'd like to be added, let me know (I'm not sure how to, but I'll have someone help me).

Why did no one tell me???

Little did I know at the time of the mortifying experience that befell me earlier this week...until.... Yes, this past week I caught Gus running around the house with my yoga pants. After a quick once-over, I assumed no damage was done. The next day I slipped on the pants for a quick gym run, which included intensive stretching on the mat in the middle of 24-Hour Fitness. I noticed two little holes in the upper thigh of the pants. A little irritated, but still wearable, I vowed to patch them later and continued on my course. I patched the holes a few days later and slipped them on again for another trip to the gym. While checking to make sure my granny-pantie lines weren't visible in the pants, I noticed.... YES! A VERY LARGE HOLE RIGHT ON MY BUTT! And I do mean large. I can absolutely never show my face again at that same time and day at the gym.

"Don't you ever imagine things differently from what they are?"..."No."...."Oh Marilla, how much you miss."

I can't help but wonder what life would be like living in a different time period. Since I seem to find myself with more down time than usual this weekend (which I shouldn't have since midterms are next week), I have taken it upon myself to watch all four movies in the Anne of Green Gables series (a little downtime would be an understatement). In case anybody is interested, I made a tremendous discovery the other night at Costco when I happened upon the series on DVD! Not only do I wish I could live life in their days when transportation was by horse carriage, woman wore flowing dresses with puffed sleeves that were larger than their heads (if you can picture Anne looking ridiculous at the Christmas ball, you'll know what I'm talking about), they could get away with major fly-aways and still look great, and their biggest worry was how to be mean enough to a boy that has a crush on you. I also wish my vocabulary paralleled Anne's with words like "excruciatingly" and encouraging phrases such as, "tomorrow is a fresh day with no mistakes" or, "my life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes. That's a sentence I read once and I say it over to comfort myself in these times that try the soul". However, the best part of the movie is when Gus sees the horses trotting across and starts barking.

Date night!

I think Gus got bored of the movie:

Jamaica, Bahama, come on pretty mama!

I have to say that I'm terribly sorry about the puzzle post, in that I don't think it actually ever loads...disappointing for everyone, I'm sure. But I do have other great news: I survived my second Valentine's Day being married (and yes, I do mean survived). I got exactly what I asked for, roses. I've figured out by this point that I have to physically ask for what I want instead of just thinking it and expecting my wonderful husband to take initiative. The roses were lovely just the same.

I also have self appointed myself the Godmother of Scarlett Ann Stewart. I haven't exactly received permission, but I've always wanted the title and have decided that, just like the roses, I have to be a little pushy. Never mind the Catholic religion that is attached to a Godmother, I figured the Catholics won't mind if I incorporate a few items. And the greatest of all...I went on a wonderful week vacation aboard the Royal Caribbean. Although Ben has vowed to never take another cruise (I guess I'll just have to go without him), I simply loved every second: lounging by the pool while the 60 mph wind threatened to rip my love affair with Edward Cullens right out of my hand, winning victoriously at ping pong and Scrabble, screaming obscenities at the cheaters that beat my team at dodge ball (they only won because they cheated), and eating enough to make people think I was pregnant. The excursions we took in Jamaica and Grand Cayman were also very eventful. Ben and I both had the opportunity to smash our hand into a dead, moldy rat on the climb up Dunn Falls. I had a voodoo Jamaican lady tell me I was pregnant (at first I thought she was referring to my over sized stomach, but she claimed she could see it in my heart and in my eyes, then asked Ben for a dollar for letting him know). Scuba diving in the Cayman Islands was amazing, even when our dive master dropped us off at a stop without a compass or a watch. I would like to say that I'm an extremely talented and experienced diver, but I always seem to run out of air twice as fast as anyone else. Overall, the trip was just what we needed. Even though I can't tell you how excited I was to come home and see my son:-)

Jigzone

I assume that most people are not aware of online puzzles, but they are one of my favorite past times (and Ben's too although I bet he won't admit it). This is a fun one for Valentine's Day:
